Job summary

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to transition into practice within its NICU-focused fellowship. The role supports clinical care, education and research within a multidisciplinary team at Lurie Children’s.

The fellowship provides mentorship, structured learning, and paid employment as new APPs advance from academic to clinical practice.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher from an accredited school appropriate for certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Illinois APRN/PA licensure required.
• Two years of relevant clinical experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support certification; Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 6 months.
• Other certifications required for specialty area.
• Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides expert clinical care, education, consultation, advocacy research, leadership and mentorship.
• Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic and therapeutic tests and procedures.
• Orders and prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions.
• Collaborates with medical team to deliver evidence-based care.
• Participates in research design, implementation, and interpretation.
• Meets Allied Health Practitioners core performance measures.
• Evenings, nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
