Job summary

UVA Health Children’s Hospital seeks Advanced Practice Providers to join its Neonatal ICU team. The role focuses on assessment, diagnosis, and management of critically ill neonates in a level 4 NICU, with emphasis on team rounds, high-risk deliveries, and in-house overnight coverage.

Ideal candidates have neonatal or pediatric critical care experience or a strong learning mindset for a fast-paced environment, with ongoing professional development and quality improvement involvement.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited graduate school of nursing or physician assistant program with a master’s degree.
• Licensure as an Advanced Practice Provider in Virginia (or eligible). If NP, RN license in Virginia is required.
• Current BLS; ACLS and PALS/NRP as required by position.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage critically ill neonates in a level 4 NICU.
• Present patients during rounds and participate in high-risk deliveries.
• Provide overnight in-house coverage and clinical education to staff.
• Order and interpret labs and imaging; participate in care planning and family education.
• Support development and improvement of clinical pathways and quality initiatives.
