Job summary

Select Source International is seeking a field service technician to perform routine inspections, testing and preventative maintenance on life safety product lines.

You will read blueprints, work with hand tools, operate low voltage devices, and follow written or spoken instructions to meet customer expectations. A minimum high school diploma is required; NICET is preferred but not required. You must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work on lifts.

Qualifications

• Experience reading blueprints, diagrams and specifications.
• Able to operate hand tools and use low voltage devices.
• Follow verbal and written instructions to perform tasks.
• Able to lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds and work on lifts.
• NICET certification preferred but not required.
• Quality inspections and preventive maintenance on life safety product lines.
• Identify additional products or services not currently used by customers.
• Organize resources and support to ensure efficient task execution.
• Input, code and archive inspection documentation via laptop.
• Complete inspections on time and perform related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance of SimplexGrinnell life safety product lines and comparable brands.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams and specifications to guide inspections.
• Work with hand tools and low voltage devices to operate equipment.
• Follow written and verbal instructions and maintain thorough documentation.
• Identify opportunities to present additional products or services to customers.
• Organize technical resources, information and materials for efficient task execution.
• Input inspection data and archive records using a laptop computer.
• Complete assigned inspections on time and perform other duties as assigned.
