Job summary

M-Team Solutions seeks a NICET II certified Fire Alarm Technician to install, inspect, test, maintain, and troubleshoot fire alarm and life safety systems at commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities in Novi, MI. You will read blueprints, diagnose issues, and coordinate with contractors to ensure code-compliant operation.

The role requires hands-on field experience, knowledge of NFPA 72, and the ability to communicate findings clearly to customers and project teams.

Qualifications

• Current NICET Level II certification in Fire Alarm Systems preferred.
• Hands-on experience installing, inspecting, testing, maintaining, and troubleshooting fire alarm systems.
• Working knowledge of NFPA 72, applicable building and fire codes, and fire alarm system requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and system plans.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, inspect, test, and maintain fire alarm systems and related life safety equipment.
• Troubleshoot system faults, wiring issues, device failures, and communication problems.
• Perform scheduled inspections and testing in accordance with applicable NFPA standards, manufacturer requirements, and local codes.
• Diagnose problems and complete repairs, system upgrades, and component replacements.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, riser diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Verify system functionality, including control panels, initiating devices, notification appliances, and monitoring connections.
• Complete inspection reports, service tickets, test documentation, and other required records accurately.
• Communicate system conditions, deficiencies, and recommended corrective actions to customers and project teams.
• Coordinate with general contractors, electricians, building management, inspectors, and other trades as needed.
• Follow all company safety procedures and applicable fire alarm installation and testing requirements.
