Job summary

IAP World Services in Virginia is seeking a Sprinkler Technician to inspect, test, and repair water-based fire protection systems in secure environments. You will work to NFPA standards and read blueprints while supporting mission-critical facilities across the region.

Ideal candidates bring NICET Level III/IV certification, 5 years of hands-on experience, and the ability to operate in high-security, classified settings with strict adherence to safety and confidentiality requirements.

Qualifications

• NICET Level III/IV certification in water-based systems (required).
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with water-based sprinkler systems.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA 13, 20, 25 and related standards.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
• Experience in high-security facilities and confidentiality practices.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, maintain, and repair water-based fire protection systems.
• Perform system impairments, restorations, and documentation per IC security protocols.
• Diagnose deficiencies and implement corrective actions with minimal disruption to operations.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and fire protection drawings.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA standards, local codes, and AHJ requirements.
• Prepare detailed inspection and deficiency reports and maintenance records.
• Coordinate with facility managers, engineers, and security personnel in secure environments.
• Support system upgrades, retrofits, and acceptance testing.
• Maintain tools, test equipment, and inventory per site requirements.
• Adhere to safety, security, and confidentiality regulations at IC facilities.
