Job summary

The Lab Animal Care Technician II – NHP position at University of Georgia is based in Athens and involves routine care and husbandry of non-human primates in ABSL-1/ABSL-2 environments. You will follow established SOPs, wear PPE, and participate in enrichment programs and health monitoring.

Qualified applicants should be comfortable handling primates, possess excellent communication skills, and be able to use MS Word/Excel/Outlook/Adobe Acrobat.

Qualifications

• Experience with non-human primates or similar animals.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read and follow written SOPs and verbal instructions.
• Proficient with basic computer software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Acrobat).

Responsibilities

• Performs daily animal care and husbandry in NHP facility; includes feeding and enrichment.
• Transports equipment and animals, maintains clean and organized work areas.
• Maintains logs and assists in safety programs and training.
