Emory University is seeking an experienced Animal Care Technician II for the Emory National Biomedical Research Center in Lawrenceville, GA who will provide husbandry and care for a large primate colony in an open campus setting.

The role involves assisting veterinary and research staff, maintaining housing, and supporting multiple departments. The position requires flexibility for weekend and holiday schedules and a strong focus on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with two years of animal care experience, or ALAT certification with two years experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Valid Georgia driver’s license with insurable driving record.

Responsabilités

• Performs routine and specialized animal care duties including feeding, medicating, cleaning, restraint, and transport.
• Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Observes animal behavior, collects specimens, and assists research/veterinary staff.
• May train and supervise new technicians.
• May drive utility vehicles to transport animals and supplies; ensure safe operation and cleanliness.
• Willing to work with hazardous agents as required.
