Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Company LP is seeking an on-site Material Handling Technician to load and unload natural gas liquids using moving equipment. You will monitor cargo flow, inspect vessels, and document loading details for rail, road, or barge shipments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must be able to pass drug test and background check.
• Must be able to work 12-hour shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads natural gas liquids into or from tank cars, trucks and/or barges using material moving equipment.
• Monitors product movement to and from storage tanks, coordinating activities with other workers to ensure constant product flow.
• Operates industrial equipment to move rail cars to and from loading areas, if applicable.
• Checks conditions and weights of vessels to ensure cleanliness and compliance with loading procedures and all other applicable regulations.
• Inspects and ensures all shipping vessels are mechanically sound, leak free, properly labeled, and ready for shipment per applicable regulations.
• Accurately records loading information such as products and quantities pumped, gauge readings, and operating times, manually or using computers.
• Performs general warehouse activities, such as opening containers and crates, filling warehouse orders, assisting in taking inventory, and weighing and checking materials.
