Qualifications

• Experience: 3–5 years in ministry leadership with youth ministry success.
• Education: BA in theology/ministry; SBC seminary preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead weekly youth activities, messages, groups, retreats, and trips.
• Supervise children’s ministry staff and volunteers with unified vision.
• Recruit, train, and shepherd volunteer teams for kids and youth.
• Equip parents through training and home discipleship resources.
• Provide biblical counseling and care to youth and families.
• Manage budgets, safety policies, and curriculum review.
• Assist Senior Pastor in preaching, ordinances, hospital visits, and ceremonies.

Position Summaryfor NextGen Pastor

• We are seeking a married couple with a passionate calling and vision to lead family discipleship from birth to college.
• This is an immediate hiring priority for our church.
• This role offers a unique opportunity for long-term stability and mentorship, working alongside our Senior Pastor who has faithfully led this congregation for 35 years.Midway Baptist Church is located right on Highway 98 near Navarre Beach.
• This strategic role is dual-focused: you will provide overarching leadership and oversight to our Youth Ministry teams, while personally and directly leading our Youth Ministry (middle, high school and college students).

Key Responsibilities

• Work alongside our Pastor and staff to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ.
• Direct Youth Ministry Leadership: Personally plan and lead weekly youth activities, messages, small groups, retreats, and mission trips.
• Children’s Ministry Oversight: Supervise children’s ministry staff, key volunteers, ensuring a unified vision and aligned curriculum.
• Volunteer Mobilization: Recruit, train, equip, and shepherd robust teams of volunteer leaders for both children and youth.
• Family Partnership: Equip and empower parents through regular communication, training, and resources for home discipleship.
• Pastoral Care: Provide biblical counseling, spiritual support, and crisis care to youth, students, children, and their families.
• Administration & Safety: Manage departmental budgets, ensure strict background check and safety compliance policies are met, and review age-appropriate curriculum.
• General Pastoral Duties: Assist the Senior Pastor in broader pastoral duties, including preaching, ordinances, hospital visits, and officiating ceremonies as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Calling & Character: A mature, personal, and growing relationship with Jesus Christ, with a clear, undeniable calling to minister to the next generation.
• Theological Alignment: Uncompromising agreement with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000. Must fulfill the biblical qualifications of a pastor as outlined in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1
• Skills: Strong organizational, administrative, and relational skills. Must be biblically literate and able to apply biblical principles to the unique challenges facing teenagers today.
• Experience: The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience in ministry leadership, with a strong track record of direct youth ministry success and team-building. However, a man’s gifts make a place for him and we are willing to come alongside someone starting out.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in theology, ministry, or a related field (a degree or current enrollment in an SBC seminary is highly preferred).
