UW Oshkosh is seeking a Communications Manager to lead the newsroom and media relations operation, reporting to the Assistant Chancellor for University Relations and Strategic Communications. You will craft and edit institutional messages, coordinate deadlines, and maintain university voice across channels.

The role requires strong writing, editorial judgment, and ability to manage multiple priorities while engaging with university leaders, faculty, staff, students, and partners.

Qualifications

• Degree in marketing, communications, or related field required.
• Professional journalism/media relations/public information experience.
• Excellent reporting, interviewing, writing, and editing skills.
• Strong news judgment with the ability to align university priorities with external news value.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities independently.
• Good judgment and discretion handling sensitive information.

• Lead day-to-day newsroom and media relations operations.
• Develop and implement University communications strategies and story opportunities.
