NewsNation is seeking a skilled Part Time Studio Steadi-Cam Operator to join our team. This position supports the creation of high-quality video content for live Cable News Broadcasts, with daily deadlines and flexible availability including early weekend mornings, weekday evenings, and holidays.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in a fast-paced live television environment, is proficient with Steadi-Cam systems, and can carry up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Five plus (5+) years experience in a fast-paced live television environment required.
• Must be proficient in Steadi-Cam systems.
• Ability to carry / wear up to 50lbs for extended period of time.
• Must work well in a collaborative team environment and be able to multitask; a problem solver and quick thinker who can resolve existing issues and find workarounds.
• Bachelor's degree in Communications or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Listen to director's commands and react swiftly for correct positioning and framing shots.
• Carry / wear up to 50 lbs and manage physical demands of the role.
• Make smooth on-air moves and operate broadcast equipment within the assigned area.
• Set up, program, troubleshoot Steadicam system and maintain vests and related equipment.
• Communicate and document effectively with the team; maintain a press-on-regardless attitude.
• Work all day parts including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays with overtime as needed.

NewsNation is seeking a skilled Part Time Studio Steadi-Cam Operator to join our team. This position supports the creation of high-quality video content for live Cable News Broadcasts. The ideal candidate is efficient, creative, detail-oriented, and comfortable working under daily news deadlines and has flexible availability that includes early weekend mornings, weekday evenings, and holidays. This position requires membership in IBEW Local 1212 and must report to 220 E. 42nd St, New York, NY.

Responsibilities

• The successful candidate will be able to listen to director's commands and react swiftly and accurately for correctly positioning and framing shots including the X/Y axis and balancing the camera
• This position requires a physical component and must be able to carry / wear the weight of 50lbs combined
• Must be able to make smooth on-air moves.
• Must be proficient with operation of broadcast equipment within assigned area, including set up programming and troubleshooting theSteadicamsystem and maintenance of vests and related equipment.
• Be able to communicate and document effectively and concisely to the rest of the team. Must be self-sufficient and have a press-on-regardless attitude.
• All day parts (mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays) may be a part of the schedule with overtime as situations demand.

Rate : $80-$100 /hour(per experience)
