The Rector & Visitors of the University of Virginia is seeking a part-time Communications and Newsletter Assistant (Undergraduate or Graduate Student) to help plan, develop, and produce the department newsletter. Qualificações

• Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student in communications, journalism, marketing, public relations, English, public health, health sciences, education, or a related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, and Teams.

Responsabilidades

• Assist with planning, development, and production of the department newsletter.
• Gather stories, announcements, faculty and staff highlights, and other content from stakeholders.
• Attend meetings and take notes for internal communications.
• Conduct interviews to develop newsletter content.
• Draft and edit articles, profiles, and announcements for internal distribution.
• Collaborate with the team to align content with goals and branding.
• Assist with proofreading, formatting, and organizing content prior to publication.
• Support other communications and community engagement projects as assigned.
