Sinclair Broadcast Group, serving the Bakersfield market through KBAK/KBFX, is seeking a Newscast Director to direct, code assist, and prepare our newscasts for air. You will oversee production automation, teleprompter operation, and studio setup to ensure smooth on-air broadcasts.

The role requires broadcast production experience, clear direction to crew under pressure, and the ability to maintain a safe, organized control room. Weekend and early-morning availability is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience directing newscasts - 1 to 2 years preferred.
• Knowledge of production standards and equipment.
• Ability to clearly give direction to crew while under pressure.
• Typing and good spelling skills necessary.
• Ability to read and write, college degree preferred.
• Flexible Schedule (Able to work any shift including weekends and early mornings).
• Strong work ethic.
• Ability to work effectively with other production team members.

An exciting opportunity awaits for motivated candidates wanting to join the KBAK/KBFX team! We are looking to add a Newscast Director to participate in the production of our newscasts. The ideal candidate would have broadcast production experience and the ability to direct newscasts. This position includes directing, code assisting, and studio preparation and maintenance.

The hourly compensation for this role is expected to be between $18.75-$19.47 per hour. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
