Job summary

WPGA-TV/Gray Media in Macon, GA is seeking a Multimedia Journalist to tell compelling local stories that matter to the Macon community. You will shoot, edit, and report enterprise and day-of stories for our WANF collaboration, delivering clear, engaging reports for daily newscasts.

Ideal candidates have a journalism degree and 1+ year on-air/MMJ experience, strong writing, and the ability to work under deadline while coordinating with the WANF newsroom. A valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Broadcasting, Communications or equivalent.
• 1+ years of on-air reporting/MMJ experience (or strong internship/college-level equivalent with a professional reel).
• Ability to shoot & edit video under a deadline.
• Strong writing, interviewing, and editorial judgment with a commitment to accuracy and fairness.
• Working knowledge of digital publishing & social platforms.
• Valid driver's license & ability to drive to stories throughout the WPGA viewing area.

Responsibilities

• Work out of the WPGA newsroom in Macon; report to WANF leadership.
• Pitch, develop, and produce enterprise & day-of news stories that reflect the Macon community and surrounding areas.
• Shoot and edit your own video; write scripts; deliver live and/or recorded reports for newscasts.
• Coordinate with the WANF (Atlanta) newsroom to execute daily coverage plans.
• Work flexible hours and on-call coverage as assigned.
