Job summary

WGAL News 8 is seeking a strong News Producer to craft compelling, fast-paced newscasts with a strategic plan and clear communication. You will write, edit, and shape stories while coordinating with anchors and reporters to deliver impactful broadcasts.

You will drive digital and social coverage, helping extend our Coverage You Can Count On brand across platforms. Evening, holiday and weekend availability is required.

• Excellent writing, spelling, grammar and copy-editing skills.
• Ability to multi-task and coordinate several crews and responsibilities.
• Ability to synthesize and summarize complex information into concise segments.
• Creative presentation style and ability to showcase all resources and elements.
• Unwavering journalistic integrity and ethical standards.

Responsibilities

• Select, research, and write content for live newscasts.
• Collaborate with reporters and photojournalists to develop visually engaging stories.
• Coordinate and execute the creative vision with anchors, reporters, meteorologists, editors, and production staff.
• Contribute content to digital and social platforms on a regular basis.
