Job summary

WNEM-TV/Gray Media is seeking a Producer to create, coordinate, and write content for broadcast, web, digital, and social media. You will contribute story ideas and ensure high quality coverage across platforms.

The role requires solid news judgment, a strong grasp of broadcast and online journalism, and the ability to manage daily newsroom flow, prep interviews, and coordinate breaking news in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent training and/or experience.
• At least two years working in broadcast media and Social Media.
• Experience using a content management system (CMS) is a plus.
• Strong editorial skills and working knowledge of AP and Broadcast Style also preferred.

Responsibilities

• Write scripts for broadcast, web, and social media; contribute story ideas, participate in editorial meetings, and collaborate with the news team.
• Previews news material before airing and/or posting to the web.
• Prepares possible interview segments.
• Coordinates breaking news and executes newscast in the control room.

Job Description/Summary:

WNEM, a Gray Local Media I station, is recruiting for a Producer. This person creates, coordinates, and writes content on a variety of platforms, including broadcast, web, digital, and social media. The Producer displays creativity, aggressiveness, attention to detail, resourcefulness, and team spirit in the pursuit of excellent content for newscasts, online, and social platforms. The Producer assists with the daily flow of news to the newsroom for appropriate coverage both on-air and on the station’s digital platforms. This person gathers meaningful news information from various sources, generates story ideas, and checks out credible news tips. Successful candidates will have solid news judgment, a sound grasp of broadcast and online journalism, and a sense of urgency for breaking news.
