Job summary

KQED in San Francisco seeks an Audience News Guide Editor with deep experience in reporting and editing explanatory journalism. The role blends daily news reporting with explanatory guides and multimedia storytelling across radio, podcast, web and social platforms.

You will edit stories from the Audience News team and broader newsroom, mentor reporters, and contribute to developing coverage strategies while reporting your own stories.

Qualifications

• Experience in broadcast, print and online journalism.
• Ability to write quickly and accurately across platforms.
• Strong editing and production skills and sound editing.
• Experience with web/mobile/social publishing.

Responsibilities

• Researches, writes and reports news stories for radio, podcast, broadcast, the web, mobile and social media platforms.
• Reports and produces stories both from inside the newsroom and in the field.
• Assists Editors and News team in developing coverage strategies and daily assignments.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
