Job summary

The Chicago Laboratory of IDPH seeks a Clinical Lab Technologist I to perform newborn screening testing and ensure timely laboratory results. You will work with neobase and LSD methods, HLPC, GSP, and MSMS on routine specimens.

Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s in medical technology or related sciences with 1 year of clinical lab experience. Hybrid work is not available; this is an in-office position with a competitive state benefits package.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or in a chemical/biological/physical science with 1 year of clinical lab experience.
• Experience with quality control testing and quality assurance in a clinical lab is preferred.
• Experience with ELISA, HPLC, and chemical analysis is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Performs analytical testing on newborn screening specimens.
• Reviews procedures to ensure QA/QC for lab activities, equipment, media and reagents.
• Performs screening and diagnostic tests using automated analyzers and panels.
