Job summary

Hearing Screening Associates is seeking a part-time Newborn Hearing Screening Technician based in Chesapeake, Virginia. The role involves performing newborn hearing screenings in well baby and NICU units prior to discharge, and coordinating follow-up as needed.

Training is provided to ensure proficiency with Transient Otoacoustic Emissions and Automated ABR tools. Shifts are weekdays with rotating weekends, approximately 20 hours per week, starting around 7:30am.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year healthcare or childcare experience preferred.
• Ability to function independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to learn and operate screening equipment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct newborn hearing screenings in well baby and NICU units prior to discharge.
• Coordinate post-discharge follow up care as needed.
• Communicate relevance of screening to parents and nursing staff.
• Maintain and use hearing screening equipment and assist with database management.
• Interact with hospital departments and adhere to policies and procedures.
