Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Strong oral and written communication and basic math skills are essential.
• NCHAM newborn hearing screening training is not required for initial hiring.

Responsibilities

• Screen newborns according to California NHSP and IHSS guidelines.
• Keep a clean, orderly work area.
• Follow patient identification and result labeling guidelines.
• Maintain hospital and IHSS records/logs as required.
• Maintain screening equipment and report issues to Biomedical Engineering.
• Record screening results in patient charts.
• Inventory supplies and report needs to Area Manager.
• Begin shifts as scheduled and perform related duties as directed.
• Conduct screens in optimal testing conditions (infant sleeping, quiet environment).
• Report hospital concerns to IHSS within twelve hours.
• Attend NHSP-related meetings when directed by corporate office.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance at all times.
• Provide excellent customer service throughout the program.
