Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group, Inc. is hiring an on-site Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to conduct hearing screens in hospital settings after a baby is born. This entry-level role includes on-the-job training and annual American Academy of Audiology certification to help improve early detection of hearing loss.

The HST will screen eligible newborns, educate families, and ensure proper data collection and timely reporting. Flexibility for weekend shifts is required as part of hospital operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current CPR Certification or must obtain upon offer.

Responsibilities

• Perform hearing screens for newborns in the hospital setting.
• Provide education to parents on the relevance of newborn hearing screens and early intervention.
• Collect data/demographics and ensure accurate documentation for every screen.
• Upload screen results and related billing/state reporting by the end of each shift.
• Schedule outpatient appointments for refer babies when appropriate.
• Adhere to PPE, vaccination, safety and hospital policies.
• Notify Site Supervisor of missed or referred babies; maintain patient confidentiality.
