MDS Staffing is seeking a Labor & Employment Associate attorney for our New York office. This hybrid role offers exposure to sophisticated wage-and-hour matters in a nationally recognized practice and direct client interaction.

Ideal candidates have 5–7 years of substantive employment litigation, New York bar admission, and a JD from a top-tier school. The position emphasizes handling complex matters with collaboration across a leading team.

Qualifications

• JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record.
• Active Bar Admission in New York, in good standing
• 5–7 years of substantive employment law experience, with a strong focus on wage and hour litigation and counseling
• Significant experience advising employers on compliance with federal, state and local wage and hour laws
• Experience handling complex wage and hour matters, including class, collective and representative actions in federal and state courts
• Defending and prosecuting breaches of restrictive covenants
• Preparing and negotiating employment agreements, including executive compensation provisions
• Leverage AI-driven and emerging technologies effectively to improve efficiency, enhance client service, and elevate the quality of legal work products

Responsibilities

• Handle a wide range of labor and employment litigation matters, from inception through resolution
• Advise employers on complex workplace law issues, including employee relations, compliance, and risk management
• Draft and negotiate employment agreements, restrictive covenants, and executive compensation provisions
• Represent clients in disputes involving non-compete and non-solicitation agreements
• Aptitude to apply AI driven and emerging technologies effectively to enhance efficiency, client service, and legal work product

Compensation & Benefits

• Competitive Salary Range: $280,000 – $315,000 annually, commensurate with experience and education, with eligibility for performance-based bonuses
