Job summary

Boone County Schools seeks a Teacher Mentor for Madison Middle School to support newly hired or beginning teachers. Two mentors are needed to assist in developing effective instructional practices and transitioning into the profession within Boone County Schools.

The mentor will guide teachers through school and district expectations, classroom management, and professional responsibilities, providing ongoing support and collaboration with administrators and families.

Qualifications

• Must be a current Boone County Schools teacher.
• Minimum five years of successful teaching experience.
• Hold a valid West Virginia teaching certificate appropriate for the position.
• Demonstrate superior performance and competence as an educator.

Responsibilities

• Meet regularly with the assigned teacher to provide guidance and discuss responsibilities.
• Provide ongoing mentoring and professional support throughout the semester.
• Help the teacher understand district policies and expectations.
• Share instructional strategies, resources, and best practices.
• Assist with lesson planning, classroom routines, and behavior management.
• Analyze student achievement data to guide instructional decisions.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional relationships.
