  • Available to work 40 hours per week Jan 2027–May 2027 or Aug 2027.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and standardize verification processes for new product pilot builds.
  • Evaluate BOMs, assembly sequences, work instructions, tooling, ergonomics, safety, and line balance.
  • Observe and analyze manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for efficiency.
  • Create and maintain standard work instructions and verification checklists.
  • Document current processes and value streams to identify improvements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, quality, safety and cross-functional teams.
  • Develop and improve data collection methods to capture pilot results.

**We are looking for a Spring 2027 (January – May or August) New Product Introduction Process Engineer Co-op as part of the Operations Leadership Development Program with our Smart Infrastructure Electrical Products division. This position is based in Fort Worth, Texas.**

This co-op will prepare you for a potential opportunity with our two-year rotational Operations Leadership Development Program and other entry-level roles upon graduation.

**You’ll make an impact by:**
  • + Developing and standardizing verification processes for new product pilot builds.
  • + Evaluating BOMs (Bill of Materials), assembly sequences, work instructions, tooling, ergonomics, safety, and line balance during pilot production.
  • + Observing and analyzing manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for improved efficiency, quality, and productivity.
  • + Creating and maintaining standard work instructions, verification checklists, and process documentation.
  • + Mapping and documenting current manufacturing processes and value streams to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • + Collaborating with engineering, production, quality, safety, and other cross-functional teams to resolve issues and prepare designs for production.
  • + Developing and improving data collection and reporting methods to capture pilot build results and support mass production readiness.
  • + Supporting the implementation and validation of process improvements on the manufacturing floor.
**You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:**
**Basic Qualifications**
  • + Juniors, Seniors, and graduate students pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Industrial Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related majors
  • + Must be enrolled as a student at the University of Texas Arlington at the time of the co-op
  • + Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite for data analysis, reporting, and documentation
  • + Basic knowledge and understanding of new product development and design processes
  • + Available to work 40 hours per week (Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 4:00 pm) from January 2027 to May 2027 or August 2027
  • + Eligible candidates must have reliable transportation and be located within 50 miles of Fort Worth, TX as this role does not provide housing or relocation support
  • + Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
  • + This co-op is a structured experiential learning program for individuals currently enrolled in a degree or certificate program who will continue their studies following the assignment. Current and continuing enrollment is a condition of participation. Applicants who have completed or expect to complete their educational program before or during the assignment period are encouraged to explore our Early Career/ Leadership Development opportunities.
**Preferred Qualifications**
  • + Demonstrated understanding of manufacturing processes, engineering principles, or new product introduction.
  • + Familiarity with process mapping, value stream mapping, line balancing, standard work, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • + Ability to analyze processes, identify problems, and develop practical solutions that improve quality, safety, and productivity.
  • + Familiarity with engineering documentation, BOMs, work instructions, or production data.
  • + Exposure to data analysis, visualization, or digital tools used to improve manufacturing processes.
  • + Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across engineering, production, and other factory teams.
  • + Demonstrated ability to apply engineering concepts through coursework, projects, labs, or hands‑on manufacturing experience.
