Job summary

Jobtailor in the United States seeks a Senior Technical Trainer to deliver New Product Introduction training for semiconductor equipment. You will design curricula, certify instructors, and support product teams across multiple sites, both in-house and at customer locations.

Responsibilities include maintaining up-to-date technical knowledge, creating documentation, mentoring junior instructors, and leading projects. Occasional travel domestically and internationally is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in engineering, education, or training, or equivalent military experience, plus 4 years of professional semiconductor equipment experience.
  • If no bachelor’s degree, 6 years of professional semiconductor equipment experience.
  • Experience in installation, programming, safety, maintenance, operation, troubleshooting, and repair of semiconductor machinery equipment.
  • Ability to follow manuals, specifications, blueprints, and schematics.

  • Evaluate instructor performance and train others in standard course development processes.
  • Oversee course design approval.
  • Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting support for system repairs.
  • Ensure training-system functionality and safety retrofits.
  • Inform customers about Global Technical Training courses and products.
  • Assist marketing with customer relationships and selling training products.
  • Analyze customer issues and needs to identify future training opportunities.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to less senior instructors.
  • Manage multiple projects and direct project team members.
  • Support Early Learning System/Alpha Site engineering and review ECOs.
  • Assist Global Product Support with documentation.
  • Develop new procedures and Best Known Methods.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing on first chamber builds and new product final testing.
  • Develop technical materials with Instructional Designers
  • Observe technical activities and interview personnel to document operating procedures and methods
  • Study technical documents and integrate technology, procedures, production sequences, and details
  • Review published materials and recommend revisions
  • Communicate with Business Units for current product information and represent Global Technical Training at product NPI meetings
  • Travel domestically and internationally

Requirements
  • Bachelor degree in engineering, education, or training, or equivalent military experience, plus 4 years of professional semiconductor equipment experience
  • If no bachelor’s degree, 6 years of professional semiconductor equipment experience
  • Experience in installation, programming, safety, maintenance, operation, troubleshooting, and repair of semiconductor machinery equipment
  • Ability to follow manuals, specifications, blueprints, and schematics
  • Ability to use hand tools, measuring instruments, and testing equipment
  • 2 years of formal or informal experience in education, performance-based training, or training/presentation delivery to external customers is desirable
  • Preferred: nationally recognized certification in Instructional Design or 2 years of curriculum development and/or instructional design experience
  • Preferred: experience with Applied Materials semiconductor equipment
  • Excellent communication, presentation, problem-solving, teamwork, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Presentation skills, written communication, training delivery, project/information management, self-development, presenting technical information, and Microsoft Office skills
  • Semiconductor equipment skills including operations, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, alignments, calibrations, and system-level troubleshooting on analog/digital electronics
  • Ability to travel for up to 35% per year
  • Ability to work during off-shift hours and weekends as assigned
