Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Training Specialist to develop and deliver NPI technical training for semiconductor equipment in manufacturing and field settings. You will partner with Engineering, Manufacturing and Customer Support to create accurate curricula, hands-on labs, and certification paths.

Responsibilities include managing multiple training projects, evaluating instructor performance, maintaining current product knowledge, and delivering effective training solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, education, or training (or equivalent military experience) plus 4 years of semiconductor equipment experience.
  • Alternatively, 6 years of semiconductor equipment experience without a bachelor's degree.
  • Experience in installation, programming, safety, maintenance, operation, troubleshooting, and repair of semiconductor machinery equipment.
  • 2 years of formal or informal experience in education or training delivery to external customers is desirable.
  • Nationally recognized certification in Instructional Design or 2 years of curriculum development/ instructional design preferred.
  • Experience with Applied Materials semiconductor equipment preferred.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, problem-solving, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
  • Presentation skills, training delivery, project/information management, and MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

  • Learn new products in labs and develop classroom, live distance learning, and hands-on training.
  • Develop and deliver initial classroom, live distance learning, and hands‑on training.
  • Train and certify instructors after tools transition to production.
  • Deliver specialized NPI technical training in-house and at customer locations.
  • Manage classroom and lab activities while meeting course objectives and safety procedures.
  • Maintain technical knowledge of new and improved products and certify staff.
  • Establish certification requirements and participate in the Product Development Process.
  • Create and augment technical documentation, course materials, student guides, and supporting technologies.
  • Evaluate instructor performance and train others in standard course development processes.
  • Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting support for system repairs and training-system functionality.
  • Support customer relationships, identify training opportunities, and present training solutions.
  • Coach and mentor less senior instructors.
  • Manage multiple projects and direct project team members.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing on first chamber builds and final testing.
  • Work with Instructional Designers to develop technical materials.
  • Communicate with Business Units and represent Global Technical Training at product NPI meetings.

Job description

Requirements
  • Bachelor degree in engineering, education, or training, or equivalent military experience, plus 4 years of professional semiconductor equipment experience
  • Alternatively, 6 years of professional semiconductor equipment experience without a bachelor's degree
  • Experience in installation, programming, safety, maintenance, operation, troubleshooting, and repair of semiconductor machinery equipment
  • 2 years of formal or informal experience in education, performance-based training, or training/presentation delivery to external customers is desirable
  • Nationally recognized certification in Instructional Design or 2 years of curriculum development and/or instructional design experience preferred
  • Experience with Applied Materials semiconductor equipment preferred
  • Excellent communication, presentation, problem-solving, teamwork, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Presentation skills, written communication, training delivery, project/information management, self-development, technical presentation, and Microsoft Office skills
  • Experience using power supplies, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, volt meters, soldering irons, hand tools, power tools, and personal computers
  • Semiconductor equipment skills including operations, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, alignments, calibrations, and system-level troubleshooting on analog/digital electronics
  • Ability to travel up to 35% per year
  • Ability to work during off-shift hours and weekends as assigned
