Job summary

New Orleans Regional Transit Authority (RTA) is seeking a full-time Bus Operator to operate buses on assigned routes, providing professional, courteous service and ensuring safety according to RTA policies.

You will start at $16.31 per hour during training, with increases to $22.83 per hour after successful completion of training. Must have CDL with P endorsement, valid driver’s license, and pass background checks.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• 21+ years of age.
• Six months minimum of customer service experience, prior driving and public interaction preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operates a passenger bus over a prescribed route.
• Maintains safety and provides courteous service to passengers and the general public.
• Reports incidents and completes written reports as directed.
• Communicates with the central communication center via radio or telephone.
• Monitors the route timetable, fare box, and adheres to schedule.
