The State Director will drive major initiatives, oversee fundraising, and build Tribal partnerships while reporting to division leadership and collaborating with a statewide board and staff of 18.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with minimum 7 years of management experience or equivalent
• Proven ability to lead and manage a multi-disciplinary team and drive performance
• Experience working in New Mexico and with natural resources/conservation priorities
• Strategic planning and systems thinking for large, complex initiatives
• Experience in fundraising and developing partnerships with Tribal governments and other stakeholders
• Ability to grow cross-boundary collaborations and support division-level initiatives

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the New Mexico BU, serving as ambassador for the state and collaborating with the Western US and Canada Division
• Oversee policy/government relations, fundraising, and finance leadership for the BU
• Drive fundraising, donor engagement, and partnerships to meet goals
• Promote a One Conservancy culture and empower a team of 18 across the state
• Travel ~40% for statewide and regional leadership activities
