Job summary

Lawyers for Justice is seeking a New Jersey-licensed Senior Attorney to manage a high-volume state and federal wage-and-hour, class, and representative actions. You will lead strategy, supervise associates, conduct discovery, take/defend depositions, and argue motions in court.

Travel may be required as part of complex litigation campaigns with Fortune 500 clients. The ideal candidate has 8+ years of civil litigation experience, NJ licensure, and a proven record in wage-and-hour and class

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice law in New Jersey with 8+ years of civil litigation experience.
• Experience with discovery, oral advocacy, court appearances, motions, and depositions.
• Prior exposure to class actions, complex litigation, and wage-and-hour matters is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop case strategy and lead active caseload against regional and national defendants.
• Manage discovery, take/defend depositions, and respond to complex discovery requests.
• Draft and argue dispositive and class certification motions; lead settlements.
• Appear in court for hearings and trial; supervise and mentor junior attorneys.
• Collaborate with teams to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
• Travel as needed for hearings and depositions.

New Jersey-Senior Attorney

Compensation: $200,000 - $400,000 / year

Description

The Senior Attorney will manage and lead an active caseload of state and federal plaintiff's-side wage-and-hour, class, and representative action litigation against regional, national, and Fortune 500 companies, while also providing guidance and oversight to associate attorneys. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, developing case strategy; conducting and responding to complex discovery; taking and defending depositions; drafting and arguing dispositive and class certification motions; leading settlement negotiations; appearing in court for hearings and trial; and mentoring junior attorneys on litigation best practices. Our agenda is growing and the ideal candidate for this position is a licensed, highly experienced litigator with a strong track record in complex or class action litigation who is organized, professional, and committed to achieving strong outcomes for our clients.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be either (a) licensed to practice law in New Jersey or (b) already licensed in another U.S. jurisdiction and pending admission to the New Jersey.
• The ideal candidate will be licensed to practice law in New Jersey and have minimum of 8+ years of experience in civil litigation, including experience with discovery in the civil litigation context, oral advocacy and appearing in Court, motion practice and taking/defending depositions.
• Prior experience with class actions, complex litigation, and wage and hour litigation is a plus.
• Candidates must be able to travel on occasion.

License/Certification:
