Job summary

Lawyers for Justice, P.C.® seeks a Senior Attorney to manage and lead a caseload of wage-and-hour, class, and representative actions for state and federal plaintiffs against regional and Fortune 500 companies.

The ideal candidate has NJ license (or pending admission) and 8+ years of civil litigation, including complex discovery, depositions, and motion practice. Travel may be required; mentorship to junior attorneys is expected.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice law in New Jersey or pending admission to New Jersey
• 8+ years of civil litigation experience, including discovery, oral advocacy and court appearances
• Experience with class actions, complex litigation, and wage-and-hour litigation is a plus
• Ability to travel on occasion

Description

The Senior Attorney will manage and lead an active caseload of state and federal plaintiff's-side wage-and-hour, class, and representative action litigation against regional, national, and Fortune 500 companies, while also providing guidance and oversight to associate attorneys. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, developing case strategy; conducting and responding to complex discovery; taking and defending depositions; drafting and arguing dispositive and class certification motions; leading settlement negotiations; appearing in court for hearings and trial; and mentoring junior attorneys on litigation best practices. Our agenda is growing and the ideal candidate for this position is a licensed, highly experienced litigator with a strong track record in complex or class action litigation who is organized, professional, and committed to achieving strong outcomes for our clients.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be either (a) licensed to practice law in New Jersey or (b) already licensed in another U.S. jurisdiction and pending admission to the New Jersey.
• The ideal candidate will be licensed to practice law in New Jersey and have minimum of 8+ years of experience in civil litigation, including experience with discovery in the civil litigation context, oral advocacy and appearing in Court, motion practice and taking/defending depositions.
• Prior experience with class actions, complex litigation, and wage and hour litigation is a plus.
• Candidates must be able to travel on occasion.
