Lawyers For Justice P.C in New Jersey seeks a Senior Attorney to manage a demanding caseload of wage-and-hour, class, and representative actions against regional and national firms. The ideal candidate is a licensed, experienced litigator who can lead strategy, drive complex discovery, and mentor junior attorneys.

Requirements include New Jersey licensure (or impending admission), 8+ years in civil litigation, and frequent travel.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed to practice law in New Jersey or pending admission.
• 8+ years of experience in civil litigation, including discovery, oral advocacy, and court appearances.
• Prior experience with class actions and complex litigation; wage-and-hour exposure is a plus.
• Ability to travel on occasion.

Description

The Senior Attorney will manage and lead an active caseload of state and federal plaintiff's-side wage-and-hour, class, and representative action litigation against regional, national, and Fortune 500 companies, while also providing guidance and oversight to associate attorneys. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, developing case strategy; conducting and responding to complex discovery; taking and defending depositions; drafting and arguing dispositive and class certification motions; leading settlement negotiations; appearing in court for hearings and trial; and mentoring junior attorneys on litigation best practices. Our agenda is growing and the ideal candidate for this position is a licensed, highly experienced litigator with a strong track record in complex or class action litigation who is organized, professional, and committed to achieving strong outcomes for our clients.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be either (a) licensed to practice law in New Jersey or (b) already licensed in another U.S. jurisdiction and pending admission to the New Jersey.
• The ideal candidate will be licensed to practice law in New Jersey and have minimum of 8+ years of experience in civil litigation, including experience with discovery in the civil litigation context, oral advocacy and appearing in Court, motion practice and taking/defending depositions.
• Prior experience with class actions, complex litigation, and wage and hour litigation is a plus.
• Candidates must be able to travel on occasion.

License/Certification:

• Must be licensed to practice law in the state of New Jersey
