Job summary

Hanwha Q CELLS America Inc. seeks a Solar Activation Specialist to lead activation and commissioning for solar and storage systems in new home developments.

You will manage on-site activations, remote PV/ESS activations, and maintain field dashboard performance while partnering with the Field Manager to ensure PTO readiness. You will engage with builders, installers, and homeowners, coordinating across residential trades and troubleshooting issues to deliver a first-rate customer experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business or related field with 5+ years of professional work experience or an associate's degree with 8+ years of professional work experience including at least 2+ years in solar.
• Strong computer skills, including data entry, email, and navigating CRM platforms.
• Excellent time management and organizational abilities; multitask across calls, emails, and CRM updates.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Customer service experience or related client-facing role.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage schedules.
• Comfortable with high-volume customer engagement across multiple channels.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills; proactive and solution focused.

Responsibilities

• Attend new community kickoff meetings, preconstruction walkthroughs, and other field operations meetings.
• Partner with Project and Field Managers to resolve commissioning issues quickly and prevent activation delays; provide status updates.
• Coordinate with builders, installers, and internal ops to remove blockers before and during construction.
• Guide installers, builders, and homeowners through commissioning and activation sequences; perform hands-on troubleshooting.
• Serve as the technical SME on PV/ESS systems for field operations.
• Plan and optimize travel routes to maximize site-visit efficiency and hit activation targets.
• Inspect installations for as-built issues that could affect inspections or compliance.
• Own commissioning quality, on-time phase completion, and adherence to scope of work.
• Conduct quality audits of PV and battery installations; verify alignment to standards; document milestones in Salesforce.
• Support permitting and inspection activities; assist with permits and AHJ inspections; assist with inventory reconciliation.
• Travel as needed to support communities; use personal or fleet vehicle.
• Deliver high-quality customer service and maintain homeowner relationships; provide device configuration guidance.
