Job summary

Covia is seeking highly motivated recent graduates to join its New Graduate Trainee Program, an 18-month development path across our U.S. plant network.

Trainees gain hands-on exposure to plant operations, production, quality, maintenance, safety, and supply chain, rotating through key areas and working with seasoned leaders. Upon completion, graduates transition into full-time roles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Engineering, Operations Management, Industrial Technology, Environmental Science, or related field.
• Graduation within the last 0-2 years.
• Previous internship, co-op, or leadership experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to relocate and work flexible hours/shifts.
• High level of initiative, teamwork, and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Rotate through 5 core functional areas: HSE, Mining/Quality, Operations & Supply Chain, Maintenance, Parts, Inventory.
• Participate in hands-on training and shadowing across multiple shifts, including nights and weekends
• Contribute to daily production, maintenance, lab, and shipping activities
• Support plant safety inspections, quality testing, equipment troubleshooting, and process improvement projects
• Complete technical certifications (MSHA, Lean Basics)
• Deliver a plant-wide capstone project with measurable business impact
• Work collaboratively with plant operators, technicians, supervisors, and cross-functional leaders
• Receive quarterly feedback, coaching, and performance evaluations
