Job summary

Covia is seeking motivated and high-potential recent graduates to join our New Graduate Trainee Program—a rigorous 18-month development experience across our US plant network.

You will rotate through five core areas (HSE, Mining/Quality, Operations & Supply Chain, Maintenance, Parts, Inventory), gain hands-on exposure, and work with plant leaders to build technical, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Upon completion, you transition into a full-time role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining, Engineering, Operations Management, Industrial Technology, Environmental Science, or related field.
• Graduation within the last 0-2 years.
• Previous internship, co-op, or leadership experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to relocate and work flexible hours/shifts.
• High level of initiative, teamwork, and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Rotate through 5 core functional areas: HSE, Mining/Quality, Operations & Supply Chain, Maintenance, Parts, Inventory.
• Participate in hands-on training and shadowing across multiple shifts, including nights and weekends.
• Contribute to daily production, maintenance, lab, and shipping activities.
• Support plant safety inspections, quality testing, equipment troubleshooting, and process improvement projects.
• Complete technical certifications (MSHA, Lean Basics).
• Deliver a plant-wide capstone project with measurable business impact.
• Work collaboratively with plant operators, technicians, supervisors, and cross-functional leaders.
• Receive quarterly feedback, coaching, and performance evaluations.
