Job summary

Saint Joseph Hospital - Elgin is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver safe patient care using the nursing process across assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. You will provide direct patient care within your scope and guide patient and family teaching while coordinating with other nursing staff.

The role requires current Illinois RN license, BLS and ACLS, and preferred BSN along with ventilator management and acute care experience.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator Management experience preferred.
• Medical-Surgical Nurse-Board Certified (RN-BC) or similar certification; preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel.
• Communicate with the physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including hemodynamic monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and abnormal results and symptomatology.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
