Job summary

Timmons Group in Plano, TX is seeking a Civil Project Engineer I for our Renewable Energy group, focusing on land development site design for utility solar and wind projects. Responsibilities include grading, road design, hydrologic/hydraulic analysis, erosion control design, and field reconnaissance.

Essential duties cover design with AutoCAD Civil 3D, field observations, and collaboration with clients and internal teams.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s or master's degree in civil engineering with coursework in land development, and/or water resources preferred.
• EIT preferred.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design project components using AutoCAD Civil 3D and other industry-standard software.
• Complete calculations using engineering formulas and skills and/or utilizes computers in order to solve problems
• Research and prepare material specifications, installation guidelines, and inspection protocols.
• Work to complete design details and plan sets
• Complete field observation, inspection and data collection duties as directed by senior engineering staff
• Collaborate with client staff and internal design team as directed by senior engineering staff
• Contribute to cost estimates and technical reports that drive project success.

A typical scope on a project includes grading, road design, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and design, erosion and sediment control design and field reconnaissance.

Essential duties and responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

• Design project components usingAutoCAD Civil 3Dand other industry-standard software.
