Timmons Group is seeking a Civil Project Engineer I for our Charlotte, NC office to join the Land Development group. The role focuses on designing, building, supervising, and maintaining large infrastructure projects for commercial and residential sites, with emphasis on collaboration with clients and internal teams.

Ideal candidates hold a civil engineering degree (bachelor’s or master’s) and have familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D; EIT is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering with coursework in land development and/or water resources preferred.
  • EIT preferred.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design project components using AutoCAD Civil 3D and other industry-standard software.
  • Complete calculations using engineering formulas and/or computer tools.
  • Research and prepare material specifications, installation guidelines, and inspection protocols.
  • Work to complete design details and plan sets.
  • Complete field observation, inspection and data collection duties as directed by senior staff.
  • Collaborate with client staff and internal design team as directed by senior staff.
  • Contribute to cost estimates and technical reports that drive project success.

A Civil Project Engineer I is responsible for designing, building, supervising, operating, and maintaining large construction projects and systems, including roadways, piping systems, utilities, land grading specifications, and other infrastructural systems for commercial and residential building sites. Timmons Group is currently seeking candidates for the Land Development group.

Essential duties and responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

  • Design project components usingAutoCAD Civil 3Dand other industry-standard software.
  • Complete calculations using engineering formulas and skills and/or utilizes computers in order to solve problems
  • Research and prepare material specifications, installation guidelines, and inspection protocols.
  • Work to complete design details and plan sets
  • Complete field observation, inspection and data collection duties as directed by senior engineering staff
