Job summary

IMEG's DC structural team in Northern Virginia supports data center upgrades, commercial interiors, and building projects. The role focuses on designing and analyzing structures, coordinating with clients, and ensuring project quality across multiple disciplines.

Ideal candidates hold a BS in civil/structural engineering, an MS degree, and proficiency with engineering software. This in-office, full-time position offers ESOP ownership and strong growth opportunities within a collaborative

Qualifications

• Incl. BS in Civil/Structural/Architectural Eng required and MS degree.
• Knowledge of design techniques across steel, concrete, wood and masonry.
• Strong analytical skills related to structural mechanics and materials.
• Experience with standard engineering software and tools for analysis and design.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
• Basic BIM software knowledge.
• Clear oral and written communication skills; MS Office proficiency.
• Travel up to 5% with occasional overnight stays.
• Preferred: MS in Structural Engineering; internship in building design.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and analysis of structural systems using various materials and software.
• Interact with clients to gather requirements and maintain professional relations.
• Collaborate within project teams to support consulting projects.
• Assist in project planning and scheduling to meet deadlines.
• Document design decisions and client instructions; monitor progress.
• Analyze low to medium complexity tasks and propose practical solutions.
• Participate in IMEG quality control processes to meet standards.
• Stay updated on industry trends and contribute to R&D efforts.
• Prioritize safety and work ethically with multidisciplinary teams.
