Job summary

Harvey is hiring a Software Engineer for new graduates to join our Engineering team. You’ll contribute production code across the stack, collaborating with AI research, legal engineering, product, and design to transform problem statements into compelling product experiences.

You’ll work on retrieval, document intelligence, and workflow automation, with an accelerated path to ownership and learning across frontend, backend, full-stack, infrastructure, and Applied AI teams. Role starts in 2027.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field; graduation Winter 2026 – Spring 2027.
• Able to work from New York or San Francisco office starting January 2027 with relocation support.
• Previous internship experience is required.
• Strong foundation in programming languages (Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, Java, Go) and solid CS knowledge.
• Bias toward action and ability to deliver end-to-end projects during coursework or internships.
• Interest in AI-assisted development tools and building with LLMs.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and ship production-level code across the stack with a focus on quality, reliability, and security.
• Collaborate with AI Research, Legal Engineering, Product, and Design to translate problems into product experiences.
• Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and engineering best-practice development with senior staff.
• Experiment with cutting-edge LLMs and AI systems and contribute to Harvey's platform evolution.
• Work on retrieval over large document collections, AI system interfaces, or secure systems for client data.
