Job summary

SpaceX is hiring a Security Software Engineer for Starshield to design and build security infrastructure and cryptographic services across satellites and gateways. You will develop security features, and integrate secure boot and OS-level protections while collaborating with multiple engineering teams.

The role requires a strong background in software security, cryptography, and network security, with readiness to obtain or maintain required clearances and work extended hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or STEM field
• Experience with one or more software development languages (Python, C++, Go)
• Experience designing security solutions for OS, distributed systems, or large-scale infra
• Graduating in the class of 2026 or 2027

Responsibilities

• Design and build security infrastructure for Starshield, including cryptographic services and other security-critical services
• Develop security features for Starshield systems, including our router, dish, gateways, and satellites
• Design security into factory processes and provide network services in support of this
• Maintain existing production systems and improve security posture via implementation and recommendations
• Build prototypes and help identify, design, and test security improvements
