Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a new graduate Security Software Engineer for STARSHIELD to help design and build security infrastructure across spacecraft and ground systems. You will work on cryptographic services, secure boot and security features for routers, dishes, gateways, and satellites.

The role targets graduates in 2026/27 with a solid foundation in Python/C++/Golang, operating-system security, and applied cryptography, and you will collaborate with multiple engineering teams while pursuing a Top

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or another STEM discipline.
• Experience with one or more software development languages (Python, C++, Golang).
• Experience designing and implementing security solutions for OS, distributed systems, or large-scale infra.
• Graduating in the class of 2026 or 2027.

Responsibilities

• Design and build security infrastructure for Starshield, including cryptographic services.
• Develop security features for Starshield systems (router, dish, gateways, satellites).
• Design security into factory processes and provide network services.
• Maintain existing production systems and improve security posture.
• Build prototypes and test security improvements.
