Job summary

SpaceX in Hawthorne, CA is seeking a Sr. Security Software Engineer for Starshield to influence the security of software across our product lines, including cryptographic services and secure boot.

You will design and build security features for Starshield systems such as routers, dishes, gateways, and satellites. You will collaborate with teams to maintain security and respond to threats, while shaping architecture and selecting secure technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or STEM and 5+ years in security software development; OR 7+ years in lieu of a degree.
• Experience with Python, C++, or Golang in security software projects.
• Experience designing security for OS, distributed systems, or large-scale infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design and build security infrastructure for Starshield, including cryptographic services and security-critical services.
• Develop security features for Starshield systems (router, dish, gateways, satellites).
• Incorporate security into factory processes and provide network services to support them.
• Maintain and improve security posture of production systems via implementation and collaboration.
• Build prototypes and test security improvements.
