Job summary

Cleveland Clinic’s South Pointe Hospital offers a New Grad RN Resident position in Stroke/Telemetry. You will provide compassionate nursing care within a comprehensive residency program designed for professional growth at the 6 Medical Unit in Warrensville Heights, OH.

The program supports new graduates with a structured curriculum, supervision, and opportunities to advance clinical skills while delivering patient-centered care in a high-acuity setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN) required.
• BSN preferred.
• New grad or <1 year RN work experience required.
• If experienced, less than 1 year of acute direct patient care RN experience.
• Current state RN license.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with providing exceptional care to patients from initial introduction to discharge.
• Interact with patients, families, and visitors to enhance experience and education.
• Participate in a residency core curriculum based on learning needs.
• Provide direct nursing care alongside a mentor/success coach.
• Set and adjust priorities for patient care based on acuity, preferences, and resources.
• Respond to data indicating patient risk and take corrective action as needed.
• Seek supervision or assistance when needed for safe practice.
• Document in patients’ medical records.

As a New Grad RN Resident in Stroke/Telemetry at Cleveland Clinic’s South Pointe Hospital, you will provide exceptional care to patients with various medical conditions while participating in a comprehensive residency program designed for professional growth.

What You'll Do

• Assist fellow caregivers with providing exceptional care to patients from initial introduction to discharge.
• Interact directly with patients, families, and visitors to enhance their experience and supply healthcare education.
• Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs.
• Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.
• Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care based on acuity of need, patient preference, and resource availability.
• Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate action to correct, reduce, or prevent risk.
• Seek supervision, consultation, and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.
• Document in patients’ medical records.

Education

• Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN program) required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Experience

• New grad or less than one year of RN work experience required
• If experienced, must have less than one year of current acute direct patient care RN experience

Licenses & Certifications

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross required
