Job summary

SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital – Madison is seeking a licensed new graduate nurse to participate in the New Graduate Nurse Residency Program and provide professional nursing care to a diverse patient population.

The role involves assessment, planning, implementation, coordination, delegation and monitoring under nursing standards. Responsibilities include patient assessments, education for patients and families, accurate documentation, and collaboration with the care team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited nursing program; eligible for RN licensure.
• No relevant work experience required.
• Ability to assess, plan, implement, coordinate and monitor patient care per nursing standards.

Responsibilities

• Performs specialized tasks to provide nursing care for the patient population served.
• Performs patient assessments across biophysical, psychosocial, spiritual, cultural and age-related needs.
• Develops and delivers patient/family education and coaching.
• Documents accurately and timely; reviews physician orders and monitors care delivery.
• Collaborates with physicians and other health care professionals on patient care.
• Applies evidence-based practice and age-specific care as described in department scope.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
