Job summary

UNC Health offers a New to Preop/PACU (NPP) training program for recent nursing graduates. The 12-week curriculum emphasizes classroom instruction, simulation, and hands-on preceptorship across UNC sites and the main OR/NC Surgical Hospital in Chapel Hill.

Eligible nurses must obtain/hold NC RN licensure before start and complete program requirements to progress in the Nursing Residency Pathway. UNC Hospitals, a Magnet-designated academic medical center, provides clinical ladder opportunities

Qualifications

• Recent nursing graduate or within 12 months of graduation.
• RN license to practice in North Carolina before start date.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers required.

Responsibilities

• Provide competent clinical nursing care in a hospital setting.
• Participate in education programs and complete modules and exams.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to evaluate and plan patient care.
• Demonstrate professional growth and contribute to unit goals.
• Assess patient/family needs and adapt care plans accordingly.
