Job summary

UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill, NC is seeking a New Graduate RN for the Intermediate Neurosciences and ENT Unit (INEU). This is a 36-hour-per-week position with day/night and weekend rotation and offers an excellent benefits package and incentives to eligible applicants.

The INEU team cares for patients with stroke, brain tumors, epilepsy, spine injuries, and head and neck conditions. New grads in their final semester or within 12 months of graduation with NC RN licensure are encouraged to

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• If hired after January 6, 2014, must pursue a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing within seven years of employment.

Responsibilities

• Education - Participates in identifying and meeting learning needs of self. Attends education programs based on identified learning needs.
• Evaluation of Care - Identifies expected patient outcomes. Seeks guidance as needed in revision of plan of care.
• Implementation - Demonstrates competence in care of patients with complex problems, including population-appropriate physical, psychosocial, educational and safety aspects of care.
• Leadership - With assistance, develops goals to promote professional growth or minimize limitations.
• Patient Assessment - Recognizes data from complex situations to determine priorities for care.
• Planning - Collaborates with patient/family to prepare or update the plan of care.
• Research - Reads journals that contain studies or articles that may be applicable to practice.
