Job summary

The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Nelson 8 telemetry unit. You will provide direct patient care on a 23-bed medical floor with patients requiring telemetry and IV titrations.

A 12-hour day/night rotation with self-scheduling is offered to support work-life balance. Active Maryland or Compact RN license, BLS CPR, and ADN are required; BSN is preferred with a plan to pursue BSN.

Qualifications

• Active Maryland or Compact RN license at time of hire.
• BLS CPR certification required.
• Associate's Degree in nursing (ADN) required.
• BSN preferred; ADN candidates must matriculate into BSN program.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care on the Nelson 8 telemetry unit.
• Administer medications and titrate drips as ordered.
• Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure patient safety.

Nelson 8

The Johns Hopkins Hospital's Nelson 8 is a 23-bed acute medical floor, with capacity for 10 patients requiring telemetry. Staff on the unit care for a mix of complex medical patients, including pulmonary, endocrine, GI, renal, cardiac, and neuro. On the unit, you will gain experience with continuous drips & IV titrations for antiarrhythmics, dopamine, nitroglycerin, heparin, and PCA pumps. The unit is very supportive of new staff.

Qualifications:

• Active Maryland or Compact RN license is required at time of hire
• BLS CPR required
• Associate's Degree in nursing (ADN) (Required)
• BSN (preferred) and applicants w/an ADN in nursing will be considered. Per nursing guidelines, must matriculate into a BSN program.

Salary Range: Minimum 36.07/hour - Maximum 54.28/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
