Job summary

Johns Hopkins Hospital is seeking a registered nurse for the Cardiac Care Unit. The role requires an active Maryland RN license and BLS CPR. ICU/stepdown experience preferred, with at least 6 months ICU experience. An ADN is required; a BSN is preferred with plans to matriculate to BSN.

The unit is 12-bed, with 12-hour shifts, and 20 shifts in a 6-week cycle. Salary ranges up to $61.45/hour and strong benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Active Maryland or Compact RN license required at time of hire.
• BLS CPR required.
• 1 year recent high acuity stepdown or ICU experience preferred; minimum 6 months ICU experience required.
• Associate's Degree in nursing (ADN) required.
• BSN preferred and ADN matriculation into BSN program required by nursing guidelines.

Weekly Working Hours: 40-hours/week (20 12-hour shifts in a 6-week schedule)

Shift: 12-hour day/night rotations w/self scheduling

The Johns Hopkins Hospital's Cardiac Care Unit is a 12-bed Intensive Care Unit. The staff care for patients with acute myocardial infarction and complications including cardiogenic shock, post-infarction angina and congestive heart failure. We also care for many other critically ill patients suffering from severe cardiomyopathies, valvular heart disease and life‑threatening arrhythmias. This is a cardiac medicine unit, therefore patients post- CABG, valve replacements, transplant, LVAD placement are transferred to the CVSICU (Surgical ICU) for recovery.

Salary Range: Minimum 39.64/hour - Maximum 61.45/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
