Job summary

College Medical Center Phoenix is launching a New Graduate Nurse Program for RN and LPN hires. New grads will complete assessments, develop care plans, administer meds, and support safety in an adult/geriatric behavioral health setting under supervision.

The two-month training emphasizes hands-on unit training, teamwork, and autonomy to apply knowledge with ongoing mentorship and structured education.

Qualifications

• New Graduate RNs and LPNs welcome to apply.
• Current RN or LPN license (as applicable).
• AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers is required.
• CPI Certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Knowledge of growth and development principles and legal nursing considerations.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and document findings.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans with the team.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Provide crisis intervention and behavioral management per protocols.
• Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment, and continuing care.
• Monitor patients’ status and report significant changes promptly.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment and participate in shift reports.
