Job summary

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, VA seeks a full-time new graduate registered nurse for the Emergency Department. The role is a three 12-hour shift position (7p–7a) with required call and a sign-on bonus up to $7,500. New graduates are encouraged to join the Early 2027 transition cohort after NCLEX completion.

The RN will work under preceptors, gain competency through the residency program, and progress toward independent practice while delivering high-quality care.

Qualifications

• ADN is required.
• BSN is preferred.
• Entry level with zero to one year of nursing experience.
• Active RN license in-state upon hire; NCLEX-RN completed.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing and patient care during the first year of practice.
• Work under guidance of preceptors and experienced RNs.
• Complete patient assessments and contribute to care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments safely.
• Participate in nurse residency and onboarding.
• Document assessments and outcomes in the EMR.
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and team.
• Escalate concerns promptly and follow safety standards.
